The Staging of Gastrointestinal Malignancies by Endosonography: A New Echoendoscope
To determine if a new type of endoscope can stage
gastrointestinal tumors as well as a traditional endoscope. The
study will compare T (tumor) staging and N (lymph node) staging by
traditional endosonography to staging with transverse array
endosonography in patients with a GI malignancy.
Patient Inclusion/Exclusion Criteria:
Patients with a cancer of the esophagus, stomach, or colon who
are undergoing staging with endosonography. The patients will be
asked to undergo an additional endoscopic exam with a new
