A multinational, randomized, double-blind, placebo controlled trial to evaluate the effect of Ticagrelor 90mg twice daily on the Incidence of Cardiovascular Death, Myocardial Infarction or Stroke in Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.

Purpose

Had a Blocked Artery? Worried about a heart attack or stroke? The THMIS study is researching a study drug to prevent heart attack and stroke in people with type 2 diabetes.

Eligibility

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Are at least 50 years old
  • Have type 2 diabetes
  • Have had a procedure to unblock and artery OR currently have a paritally blocked artery
  • Have not had a heart attack or stroke
  • Are not on dialysis
