Type 2 Diabetes Trial for patients taking more than 1500 mg of Metformin daily

The purpose of this study is to assess the overall safety and tolerability of a single intravenous injection vs. placebo in patients with Type 2 Diabetes inadequately controlled on a stable Metformin regimen.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Aged between 18 and 80
  • Diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes for at least 1 year
  • On a stable dose of more than 1500 mg of Metformin daily for at least 3 months

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Currently smoking more than 10 cigarettes a day
  • Insulin therapy within the last 6 months
  • Use of prescription or over the counter weight lowering agent within the last 12 weeks
