A Pilot Study of the Impact of a Single Dose of Zoledronic Acid on Biomarkers in Breast Cancer

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have Invasive Ductal Breast Cancer (IDBC). Invasive Ductal Carcinoma (IDC) is a very common type of breast cancer. It starts developing in the milk ducts of your breast, but breaks out of the duct tubes, and invades, or infiltrates, surrounding tissues. Invasive ductal carcinoma accounts for about 8 out of 10 of all invasive breast cancers. The purpose of this research study is to evaluate the changes in biomarkers (protein(s)) before and after a single dose of Zoledronic acid the study medication. Your time on this study is expected to last approximately 6 weeks.
