RETAIN: Resistance Training and Physical Functioning in Patients with Head & Neck Cancer

Resistance Training and Physical Functioning in Patients with Head & Neck Cancer. Pts with 1st time dx pf pharyngeal (excluding nasopharyngeal) or laryngeal ca. No other ca dx except skin or cervical in situ for past 5 yrs. Rad therapy planned or underway <1 wk. Asses physical performance, muscle strength, attitude/quality of life & body composition testing at baseline, wk 6, & wk 12.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Passes physical performance, muscle strength, attitude/quality of life & body composition testing at baseline, wk 6, & wk 12.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • No other ca dx except skin or cervical in situ for past 5 yrs. Rad therapy planned or underway <1 wk.
