Research Study Summary

Pain Management and Constipation Secondary to Opioid Pain Medication Study

Purpose

For Patients with Non-Malignant Pain who take Daily Opioid Pain Medications and are constipated may be .given oral medication for pain and constipation. Patients must be on a stable dose of opioids that can be verified by pharmacy records and be constipated. Patients will be provided study related exams, medications, labs and possible compensation for travel.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Taking Daily Opioid Pain Medications Daily
  • 18 Years of age and Older
  • Non-Malignant Pain
  • Constipated
  • Be willing to possibly change Opiods for the time of the Study

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Malignant Pain
  • Unstable Medical Conditions
  • Not Taking Opioid Medications Daily
