PHI-68, NCI #9152: A Phase I Study of ARQ 197 in Combination with IV Topotecan in Advanced Solid Tumors with an Expansion Cohort in Small Cell Lung Cancer

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have advanced cancer that cannot be cured with surgery or radiation therapy and standard chemotherapy treatment is not working. The purpose of this research study is to determine the highest possible dose of the investigational drug ARQ 197 and topotecan that can be given without causing severe side effects and to learn more about the side effects of this drug combination. An additional purpose of this study is to study levels of the drug in the body over time. Another purpose is to obtain blood and tumor specimens before and after the study drug treatment to do laboratory studies on the effects of ARQ 197 and topotecan on cancer cells. Your treatment on this study is expected to last until you experience too many side effects or your cancer worsens. You will be followed for at least 4 weeks after discontinuation of participation from study or indefinitely.
