A Multicenter, Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled Study Assessing the Occurence of Major Adverse Cariovascular Events (MACE) in Overweight and Obese Subjects With Cardiovascular Risk Factors Receiving Naltrexone SR/Bupropion SR

If you're a man 45 or older, or a woman 50 or older, need to lose weight, and have heart disease and / or type 2 diabetes with certain heart risk factors, you may qualify for the study. If you participate , you will receive all study-related services at no charge.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • BMI >27 & <50
  • Waist circumference >88cm (women) & >102 cm (men)
  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Type II Diabetes with at least 2 of the following:
    • Hypertension (controlled with or without pharmacotherapy at <145/95 mm Hg)
    • Dyslipidemia requiring pharmacotherapy
    • Documented low HDL cholesterol (<50 mg/dL in women or <40mg/dL in men) within prior 12 months
    • Current tobacco smoker

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Heart Attack within 3 months of screening
  • Unstable weight within 3 months of screening
  • History of mania or current diagnosis of active psychosis
  • Blood Pressure of >145/95
  • History of seizures
  • Subjects on Wellbutrin
  • New onset of Depression
  • Current use of Opioids
