A Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Fixed-Dose Study of Vilazodone in Patients with Major Depressive Disorder

To further characterize the efficacy, safety and tolerability of a single fixed dose level of velazodone (40 mg) relative to placebo in patients with moderate to severe major depressive disorder (MDD).

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Male or Female; 18-70 years of age; Body Mass Index between 18-40; negative urine drug screen; have normal physical examination findings; normal clinical laboratory and ECG results. Female of childbearing potential must have negative pregnancy screen.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Positive drug screen; clinically significant concurrent medical history; woman who are pregnant, planning to become pregnant or breast feeding.
