Trial Information

A Randomized, Double-Blind Phase 2 Study Comparing Gemcitabine and Cisplatin in Combination with OGX-427 or Placebo in Patients with Advanced Transitional Cell Carcinoma

This study is being sponsored by OncoGenex Technologies Inc. The sponsor wants to find out if treatment with gemcitabine, cisplatin and study drug (OGX-427) at two different doses(600 mg and 1000 mg) can increase survival in subjects with TCC compared to gemcitabine, cisplatin, and placebo. A placebo is a substance that looks like medication, but the placebo contains no active ingredient. The study will also see if OGX-427 at two different dose levels is safe when given with gemcitabine and cisplatin. You are being asked if you would like to take part in this study because you are 18 years of age or older and have transitional cell cancer (TCC) of the urinary tract (bladder, urethra, ureter, or renal (kidney) pelvis), which is locally inoperable or has spread outside the urinary tract. Your options now are:
• no further treatment
• radiation therapy and/or chemotherapy (cancer drugs).
