Research Study Summary

An Investigational Medication for Major Depressive Disorder

Purpose

Are you struggling with depressive symptoms? In this clinical trial, patients with depression will be given a standard antidepressant therapy for an 8-week period. At the end of this initial treatment phase, patients will receive an additional medication (either the study drug or placebo). Patients who enter the study and are already on certain antidepressants may be able to continue on their current medication while in the trial.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:
To qualify, you must be:

  • 18-65 years of age
  • Currently experiencing depressive symptoms (persistent sadness, loss of interest in usual activities, fatigue, a sense of hopelessness, change in eating habits)
