Closed Loop System in Type 1 Diabetes Management Comparison with Pramlintide vs Exenatide

The closed loop system is an experimental device used in Type 1 Diabetes, which gives insulin automatically based on the body sugar level. The main purpose of this study is to test the system with study medications Symlin and Byetta to control meal and post meal sugars effectively. It requires a total of 4 study visits of which 3 are overnight over a 2 to 3 month period. You will be compensated a total of 700 dollars for the entire study.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Have Type 1 Diabetes
  • Between 18 and 21 years of age
  • Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes for over a year and on an insulin pump presently

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Younger than 18 years of age
  • Older than 21 years of age
  • Have not been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
