Sitagliptin Dose Determination Study in Type 1 Diabetes

The main purpose of this study is to see if the study medication Januvia (a pill) improves after meal blood sugars along with insulin in kids and adults with newly diagnosed Type 1 Diabetes and established diabetes. We will also compare how quickly food leaves the stomach during different parts of the study. Study includes 5 outpatient visits over a 6 to 9 month period for out of which 4 are about 11 hour long visits. You will be compensated to a total of 750 dollars for the entire study.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Between 13 and 30 years of age
  • Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes within the past 3 months or have had Diabetes for more than a year

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Younger than 13 years of age
  • Older than 30 years of age
  • Have not been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes
