Trial Information

Gout

The purpose of this study is to assess if colchicine will prevent gout attacks when subjects with gout begin taking allopurinol compared to subjects with gout taking a placebo and allopurinol.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:
Qualified participants must be at between the ages of 18 and 70 years old years old and have tophi and/or a history of gout attacks in at least 2 joints but no more than 3 joints. Other criteria also apply.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:
Qualified participants cannot have taken allopurinol, febuxostat, probenecid or sulfinpyrazone within the past 3 months and cannot have taken colchicine within the past 14 days.
