Low-Dose Tamoxifen for Radiation-Induced Breast Cancer Risk Reduction: A Phase IIB Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you are a woman who was diagnosed with cancer more than two years ago and your treatment included radiation therapy to your chest. The purpose of this study is to determine whether two years of low dose tamoxifen has an effect on laboratory tests and other evaluations associated with the risk of breast cancer in female cancer survivors treated with chest radiation at a young age. Another purpose is to measure the safety and tolerability of tamoxifen according to laboratory tests and information on side effects collected from questionnaires. Your participation in this study is expected to last about two years.
