Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS)

Adults with Myelodysplastic Syndrome (MDS) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore Long Island Jewish Medical Center.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are 18 years of age or older
  • Have relapsed from, not responded to, are ineligible for, or chose not to have a bone marrow transplant
  • Have stopped all treatment for myelodysplastic syndrome for at least 4 weeks prior to starting this study

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Are a female who is pregnant or breast feeding
  • Have had major surgery within 3 weeks of this study
  • Have uncontrolled hypertension
  • Have been treated with low-dose cytarabine within the past 2 years
  • Are currently being treated with an investigational agent, chemotherapy, radiotherapy, or immunotherapy
