Trial Information

Drug to Prevent Pre-term Labor

This study is for women who are pregnant and have previously had a preterm birth. The study involves weekly injections of hydroxyprogesterone caproate starting at 16-20 weeks till 36 weeks or delivery. There is only one visit post-delivery which can be done by phone. The study drug is given at no cost to the participant. Patients are compensated $50 for the second visit and $25 for each subsequent visit ($500 total).

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • are 16-20 weeks pregnant
  • previously had a preterm birth (born less than 37 weeks)

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • expecting twins, triplets, etc.
  • been on heparin or progesterone treatment during pregnancy
