Schizophrenia Study

Novartis is conducting this 12-week, randomized, multi-center, open-label study to assess efficacy, safety and tolerability of two switch approaches in people with schizophrenia that are currently being treated with existing schizophrenia therapies.

To be eligible for this study, you must be:

  • 18-64 years of age (both males and females may participate)
  • Diagnosed with schizophrenia
  • Currently taking only one of the following antipsychotics:
    • risperidone
    • olanzapine
    • aripiprazole
  • Other criteria apply

You are not eligible for the study if you:

  • Are acutely psychotic and/or exhibit symptoms requiring hospitalization
  • Have a significant medical condition that may interfere with study participation and/or study assessments; have significant, untreated medical illness; are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Have a history or diagnosis suggestive of drug or alcohol dependence in the past 6 months (or if the study's urine drug screen is positive for drugs of abuse)
  • Have had electroconvulsive therapy (ECT) at any time prior to screening
  • Other criteria apply
