CONSTIPATION FROM PRESCRIPTION PAIN MEDICATION? You may want to know about this.

Prescriptions such as Vicodin, Percocet, and OxyContin often cause constipation and even bloating. If your medication is not for cancer-related pain and you're experiencing this kind of bowel dysfunction, you may want to know about a clinical research study for bowel dysfunction caused by pain medications. Participation provides close monitoring and comprehensive study-related care at no cost to you.

Patient Inclusion Criteria

  • Must have constipation cause by your opiod pain medication
  • Must be taking opiod pain medication for non-cancer related pain
  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must be willing to complete diary every night while in the study

Patient Exclusion Criteria

  • Must not have had a change in dosage of your pain medications in past 30 day
  • Must not be currently participating in or have participated in another clinical research study in the past 30 day
  • Must not be pregnant or breast-feeding
  • Must not have used Amitiza in the past
