A phase 3b multicenter, double-blind, efficacy and safety study of pregabalin in the treatment of patients with inadequately treated painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy (protocol A0081242)

This is a phase 3, double-blind, efficacy and safety study of pregabalin in the treatment of patients with inadequately treated painful diabetic peripheral neuropathy

Inclusion Criteria:

  • Men or women, Type 1 or 2 diabetes
  • HbA1c less than 11%
  • Diagnosed with Diabetic Neuropathy
  • Must be on one(or combo of 2):
    • Tramadol
    • Gabapentin
    • Venlafaxine
    • Duloxetine
    • Trycyclic antidepresent

Exclusion Criteria:

  • Must not be on retinotoxin
    • Hydroxychloroquine
    • Deferosamine
    • Thioridazine
    • vigabatrin
  • Can not be on pregabalin (lyrica)
