Trial Information

NMDP 2009-0241: Incidence of Hematologic and Non-Hematologic Malignancies, Thrombotic Events, and Autoimmune Disorders in Unrelated Normal Donors Undergoing Bone Marrow Harvest Versus Peripheral Blood Stem Cell Mobilization with Recombinant Human Granulocyte Colony-Stimulating Factor (rHuG-CSF)

You were selected as a possible participant in the study because you previously donated bone marrow or filgrastim stimulated PBSCs for an unrelated recipient or because you have been matched with a recipient and have been asked to donate bone marrow or filgrastim stimulated PBSCs. The goal of this new study is to scientifically observe and describe how often certain disorders occur in people who donate bone marrow or filgrastim stimulated peripheral blood stem cells (PBSCs). If you choose to participate in the Long-Term Donor Follow-Up Study, around the time of the anniversary of your donation, you will be contacted by telephone by your donor center or CIBMTR study staff and asked whether or not you have developed any specific disorders since your donation. You will then be contacted every other year and asked the same health questions. Follow-up on this study will continue for up to ten years.
