Influenza Study

A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo Controlled Study of Nitazoxanide in Adults and Adolescents with Acute Uncomplicated

The Dybedal Clinical Research Center is conducting a clinical trial to study the safety and effectiveness of an investigational medication in treating uncomplicated influenza, better known as the flu. All study procedures will be done at no cost. Participants will receive compensation for time and travel. For more information, visit the study's pages at clinicaltrials.gov

Duration: 28 days (outpatient)

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • 18-65 years; have a fever of at least 100.4 and are experiencing flu symptoms (fever, stuffy nose, cough, sore throat, fatigue, or headaches).

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Severity of illness requiring or anticipated to require in- hospital care
  • Persons infected with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV)
  • Known sensitivity to Nitazoxanide
