Complicated Urinary Tract Infection

A Prospective, Randomized, Double-Blind, Multicenter, Study to Establish the Safety and Tolerability of Doripenem Compared with Cefepime in Hospitalized Children with Complicated Urinary Tract Infection

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you are:

  • Boy or girl 3 months to younger than 18 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with Complicated Urinary Tract Infection (persistent infection or treatment failure)

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have a permanent indwelling bladder catheter or instrumentation including Nephrostomy
  • Have received systemic antibiotic therapy for more than 24 hours since obtaining the study-qualifying pretreatment baseline urine specimen
  • Complete, permanent obstruction of the urinary tract
