Trouble Sleeping in the Totally Blind Individual

Non-24 hour sleep wake disorder occurs in some individuals who are totally blind and lack the light sensitivity necessary to rest the "body clock". This can lead to problems with sleep and/or daytime sleepiness.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Must be between 18 and 75 years of age
  • are blind with no light perception
  • have trouble sleeping at night or experience daytime sleepiness
