Women with Epilepsy: Pregnancy Outcomes and Deliveries

Are you a woman with epilepsy who's considering pregnancy? We are looking for volunteers to participate in an observational research study. It will not involve treatment or change in your medical care. The research study will be conducted at the Cushing Neuroscience Institute. It will last the entire duration of your pregnancy, and involves interviews, brief physical and neurological examinations, blood draws, and completion of self-report diaries on an iPod Touch, which will be provided to you at the first visit. There is no cost to you for being in the study, and you will be compensated for your time. Upon completion of the study, you will be allowed to keep the iPod Touch.

You may be eligible to participate if you are:

  • A woman between 18-40 years old.
  • Have a diagnosis of epilepsy
  • Planning to get pregnant
  • Not using any form of birth control

Please contact Study Personnel for any Exclusion Criteria.
