ACOSOG-Z5041: Ph2 of Neoadjuvant and Adjuvant Gemcitabine Hydrochloride and Erlotinib Hydrochloride in pts + Resectable Adenocarcinoma of the Pancreas Undergoing Pancreatectomy.

The purpose of this study is to find out whether Gemcitabine Hydrochloride and Erlotinib Hydrochloride given prior to surgery, can help to increase the success of removing the entire pancreatic tumor. This study is also designed to answer the question of whether the same combination of chemotherapy can be given safely after surgery and reduce the chances of the cancer returning after surgery.
