Kids Needed for a Weight Maintenance and Family Health Study!

Dr. Denise Wilfley at Washington University will test the best way to help children lose weight and keep the weight off. Children and parents will participate in a family-based weight control treatment sessions for one year. The sessions will target changes in eating and physical activity behaviors. Sessions are free and run in the evening for just over an hour.

Inclusion Criteria

  • Volunteers must be 7 – 11 years old, and must be overweight for their age/gender
  • Volunteers must have at least 1 parent that is also overweight

Exclusion Criteria

  • Volunteers that are currently in a treatment or program that affects weight are not eligible
