A prospective, randomized, double-blind study of the efficacy of XXX in atopic asthmatics with good lung capacity who remain difficult to treat (EXACT)
A study of an investigational medication for the treatment of individuals with asthma who have good lung capacity but continue to have asthma symptoms despite the use of corticosteriods.
Patient Inclusion Criteria:
- Patients aged 12-75 with atopic asthma.
- Must also have allergies to a perennial allergen such as cat or dust mite.
- Must also be currently be taking a stable dose of inhaled corticosteriods.
Patient Exclusion Criteria:
- Pregnancy or nursing.
- Smoking history > 10 pk yr.
- Received Xolair in the past 12 months.
- Asprin or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug induced asthma.
