Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH)
Study to evaluate the safety and efficacy of a medication in patients with lower urinary symptoms (LUTS) due to benign prostatic hypertrophy (BPH)
Patient Inclusion Criteria:
- Men 50 years of age with a diagnosis of BPH and clinical signs and symptoms of BPH greater than 6 months
- PSA greater than 0.8ng/ml between 4 and 10
- Must have biopsy to rule out cancer
Patient Exclusion Criteria:
- History of prostate cancer or PSA greater than 10
- Prior prostate or bladder surgery, pelvic surgery, pelvic radiation
- Taking testosterone, Class IA, or Class II antiarrhythmic medications
- 5 ARI medications
- Alpha blockers (6 week wash out)
- History of Urethral Stricture, bladder stones or neurogenic bladder
- Urinary Retention
