Pediatric Patients with Autism
Children with autism spectrum disorder are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by The North Shore-Long Island Jewish Health System.
Children may be eligible to participate in this study if they:
- Are age 6 to 12 years old
- Have a diagnosis of Autism spectrum disorder (PDD-NOS, Aspergers Syndrome, or Autistic disorder)
- Have normal physical and lab results at the time of screening
- Are able to tolerate blood draws
Children may not participate in this study if they:
- Have a history of neurological disease
- Have participated within the past 30 to 60 days with excessive blood draws in any other clinical trial
- Are taking or have taken psychoactive medications
