Trial Information

A one-year study to evaluate fluticasone nasal spray once daily on growth in pediatric subjects with perennial (year round) rhinits.

Boys (age 5-8 1/2 years old) and girls (5 to 7 1/2 years must have a history of year-round allergy for at least one year. Subjects will be skin tested to learn what he or she is allergic to. There are physical exams and lab tests at no cost as well as study medicine at no cost. We will measure their growth with height and weight over 1 19 month period. The subjects or caregiver have to keep a diary of the subject's symptoms.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • boys 5-8 1/2 years old
  • girls 5-7 1/2 years old
  • child has had allergy symptoms for 1 year
  • current growth in normal ranges

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • abnormal growth; use of growth hormones
  • history of nasal surgery or polyps
  • current use of inhaled nasal steroids or systemic steroids
  • some long-acting allergy medicines and decongestants
