Role of FSH in Human Gonadal Development
The aim of the research study is to understand the role of FSH, a hormone of the reproductive system, in human gonadal (testis) development and to maximize the fertility potential in the most severely affected men with idiopathic hypogonadotropic hypogonadism (IHH) or Kallmann sydrome (KS).
Eligibility Criteria:
Males diagnosed with IHH or KS and:
1) no history of spontaneous puberty, with small testes (less than or equal to 3 mL)
2) negative MRI of the hypothalamic-pituitary area (a region of the brain)
3) no prior reproductive hormone therapy (gonadotropin injections). Testosterone only is acceptable
