Trial Information

Easily distracted? Disorganized? Maybe it’s Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.

The study medication is a histamine H3 receptor blocker being investigated by Johnson & Johnson for the treatment of ADHD. There is a 5 out of 6 chance of receiving active medication (1, 3 or 10 mg of study drug, 80 mg Strattera, 54 mg Concerta or inactive drug. There are 8 visits to our office over the course of 8 weeks. The entire study including blood draws, physical exams, ECGs and study medication are provided at no cost.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects must be male or female between 18-55 years of age.
  • Subjects must be physically healthy on the basis of clinical laboratory tests, medical history, ECG, and vital signs performed at screening visit.
  • Both women and men must use appropriate form of birth control (double-barrier, oral contraceptives, etc) during the course of the study

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Subjects who have a prior demonstrated non-response to 2 stimulants
  • Pregnant or breast feeding
  • Subjects with a family history of, or at high risk for cardiovascular disease
  • Current or past history of myocardial infarction, stroke, angina pectoris, cardiac arrhythmias, or cardiomyopathy
  • Current or past history of seizures or glaucoma
  • Subjects who currently have confirmed cancer or malignancy (except for basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma)
