Atrial Fibrillation - Houston, TX

The primary objective of this study is to determine if apixaban is noninferior to warfarin in the endpoint of stroke and systemic embolism in individuals with AF

Patient Inclusion Criteria: Must be at least 18 years of age or older and have atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter

Patient Exclusion Criteria: Can not have atrial fibrillation or flutter due to reversible causes (ie thyrotoxicosis, pericarditis). Can not have clinically significant mitral stenosis. Can not have persistent and uncontrolled hypertension.
