Trial Information

Have you or someone you know been recently diagnosed with a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT). If so, please contact Crystal Nagle at 610-988-4308 and see if this study might be for you.

A 2 year study for patients following treatment of an Acute DVT with the drug Activase. This study is being funded by the NIH (National Institution of Health) and sponsored by Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri.

Patient Inclusion Criteria:

  • Acute Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) of the iliac, common femoral and/or femoral vein.
  • Patients 16-70 years of age.

Patient Exclusion Criteria:

  • Chronic DVT or current DVT symptoms for greater than 14 days.
  • Previous DVT in the affected let within the last 2 years or previous DVT of the unaffected leg within the last month.
  • Severe kidney impairment.
  • Allergy to drugs, Heparin or Activase.
  • Active cancer except patients with non-melanoma skin cancer.
  • Chronic non-ambulatory patients.
  • Patients who are pregnant.
