Trial Information
Eye infection: Itchy eyelid, foreign body sensation, ocular dryness, burning or pain, and swollen or heavy eyelids?
This study is to evaluate the safety and efficacy of Azithromycin Ophthalmic Solution, 1% versus a placebo
Inclusion Criteria
- 18 years of age or older
- Best corrective visual acuity of 20/100 or better
- Diagnosis of blepharits in one or both eyes
- Willing to discontinue contact lenses for the duration of the trial
Exclusion Criteria
- Lid structural abnormalities, e.g. entropion or ectropion
- Have used Accutane
- Have had penetrating intraocular surgery within 90 days of visit 2
- History of herpatic keratitis
- Have a known hypersensitivity to azithromycin, erythromycin, or any other macrolide antibiotic
