Partial Onset Seizures - Adults and Minors
People with partial onset seizures are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are 16 years or older
- Have been diagnosed with partial onset seizures
- Have a history of AED failure
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Have generalized epileptic syndrome, primary generalized seizures, atonic seizures, typical or atypical seizures
- Have a history of Lennox-Gastaut Syndrome
- Have taken sedative or benzodiazepines for more than 3 days for seizures within the 3 months prior screening
- Have a history of kidney disease or kidney stones within the past 2 years
- Have a history of chronic liver disease, cirrhosis, liver cancer, heart disease, or planned epilepsy surgery in the next 12 months
- Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
- Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
