Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) - Adults
People with acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Monter Cancer Center.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are male or female at least 18-60 years of age at the time of relapse
- Have been diagnosed with AML
- Are male or female must agree to practice effective birth control during the study period and for 3 months afterward if not otherwise documented to be infertile
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Subjects with locally advanced solid tumors, 5 years from initial diagnosis
- Have any serious medical condition, laboratory abnormality or psychiatric illness that would prevent obtaining informed consent
- Clinical evidence of active leukemia (invasion of the brain or spinal cord).
- Have an active and uncontrolled infection
- Current evidence of invasive fungal infection (blood or tissue culture); HIV or active hepatitis C infection
- Allergy to cytarabine, daunorubicin or liposomal products
- History of Wilson’s disease or other copper-related disorder
