A Prospective, Randomized Trial Comparing the Efficacy of Anidulafungin and Voriconazole in Combination to that of Voriconazole Alone When Used for Primary Therapy of Proven or Probable Invasive Aspergillosis

You have/your child has been asked to participate in this research study because you have/your child has either received a stem cell transplant and/or have/has leukemia (cancer of the blood or bone marrow) and your/your child’s doctor has determined that you/your child may have an invasive infection caused by a fungus know as Aspergillus. The purpose of this study is to compare treatment with a combination of antifungal medicines (voriconazole and anidulafungin) to treatment with voriconazole alone. Your/your child's participation in this study is expected to last 6 weeks for treatment with follow-up for an additional 6 weeks.
