Caffeine Intake - Adults
People with coronary artery disease are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by North Shore University Hospital.
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:
- Are male or female at least 18 years of age
- Are able to ingest caffeinated food or beverages regularly (at least the equivalent of one cup of caffeinated coffee daily)
- Agree not to ingest any caffeine or other foods containing methylxanthine at least 24 hours prior to each study visit
You may not participate in this study if you:
- Have had a prior history of heart transplantationAre allergic or intolerant to aminophylline, regadenoson, and /or caffeine
- Have a history of diabetes associated with gastric disorders and/ or emptying
- Have a history of smoking, regardless of frequency, tobacco type or method of intake, within 3 months prior to first dose of regadenoson
