Trial Information

This study will evaluate the efficacy and safety of nebivolol in Hispanic subjects with hypertension.

Subjects who are of Hispanic origin and have hypertension (high blood pressure) are being asked to participate in this study to study the effects of a new drug called nebivolol. If you are already taking medication to treat your blood pressure, you will be asked to stop taking all the blood pressure medication that you are taking. If you are not taking medication to treat your blood pressure, you will receive counseling on changes you should make to your diet and exercise program that may help to lower your blood pressure. All subjects will take a placebo (inactive sugar pill) or nebivolol at some point during the study.

Subjects who have hypertension (whether or not they are currently being treated with up to 2 medications) are eligible to participate. Participation in this study will last approximately 4 months and will involve up to 12 visits to the study center.
