Stomach & Intestines: Celiac Disease Can Run in Families
Do you, your mother, father, Sister, brother, Children Over 18, or Other blood relative have celiac disease?
HAVE YOU BEEN TESTED FOR CELIAC DISEASE? INTERESTED IN CELIAC RESEARCH?
The University of Kentucky is conducting a clinical trial on celiac disease
The purpose of the research study is to look at how effective and safe an investigational medication is when it is given to subjects who have active celiac disease. The study will include people who are newly diagnosed with celiac disease, or have previousl y been diagnosed with celiac disease but who still have active disease. All participants will adhere to a gluten-free diet during the trial.
You may qualify for the study if you:
- Are between the ages of 18 and 75
- Have been diagnosed with active celiac disease in the last month
- Are willing to comply with a gluten-free diet for the duration of the study
- If your overall health is generally good
Left untreated, people with celiac disease can develop further complications
such as other autoimmune diseases, osteoporosis, thyroid disease, and cancer.
