Trial Information

Do You Have Rheumatoid Arthritis? Now Enrolling Clinical Research Study for Adults with Rheumatoid Arthritis

The purpose of this study is to demonstrate that subcutaneous injections of abatacept (Orencia) are as effective as intravenous infusions of abatacept (Orencia) when used together with methotrexate in subjects with active rheumatoid arthritis. Like intravenous administration of abatacept, subcutaneous administration of abatacept may reduce the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis by controlling the activity of cells in the immune system. There is no placebo in this study, everyone receives either intravenous or subcutaneous abatacept.

Patient Inclusion:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have been diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis
  • Must have been treated with rheumatoid arthritis medications in the past
  • Must be willing to have weekly injections of the study drug, either self-injected or administered by a caregiver
