A Randomized, Double-Blind, Active-Controlled, Multicenter Study of Patients with Primary Hypercholesterolemia and High Cardiovascular Risk and not Adequately Controlled with Atorvastatin 20 mg: A Comparison of Switching to a Combination Tablet Ezetimibe/Simvastatin (10mg/40mg) versus Doubling the Baseline Dose to Atorvastatin 40 mg
The purpose of this study is to determine the safety and effectiveness of Vytorin versus Lipitor in subjects with high cholesterol and high cardiovascular risks
Patient Inclusion Criteria:
- Diagnosis of high cholesterol
- Diagnosis of coronary heart disease or considered high risk
Patient Exclusion Criteria: Uncontrolled high blood pressure
