Contrast Enhanced MRI of the Central Nervous System - Adults

People who have lesions of the brain or spine may be eligible for an MRI of the central nervous system.  These people are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Kingston Neurological Associates.

You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have been referred for a contrast-enhanced MRI of the central nervous system (CNS) based on current clinical symptoms or results of a previous imaging procedure
  • Are willing to undergo the routine contrast-enhanced MRI examination with gadoteridol and gadobutrol
  • Are willing and able to complete all study procedures

You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have a history of severe allergic reaction to any allergen and contrast agents
  • Have any contraindication to the MRI examination or the use of Gd containing contrast agents
  • Have received any contrast agent within 24 hours prior to the study MRIs, or is scheduled to receive any contrast agent within 72 hours
  • Are considered clinically unstable (due  to  previous surgery, acute renal failure)
  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
