Trial Information

Untreated AML (AML is a fast growing cancer that starts inside bone marrow, the soft tissue inside bones that helps form blood cells ) - Adults

People with untreated AML are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by Monter Cancer Center.

Patient Inclusion Criteria
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least 60-75 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed with AML

Patient Exclusion Criteria
You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Subjects with locally advanced solid tumors, 5 years from initial diagnosis
  • Any serious medical condition, laboratory abnormality or psychiatric illness that would prevent obtaining informed consent
  • Clinical evidence of active CNS leukemia, invasion of the brain or spinal cord.
  • Active and uncontrolled infection
  • Current evidence of invasive fungal infection (blood or tissue culture); HIV or active hepatitis C infection
  • Hypersensitivity to cytarabine, daunorubicin or liposomal products
  • History of Wilson's disease or other copper-related disorder
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
