Complicated Skin and Skin Structure Infection
Evaluate the safety and Potential effectiveness of two doses of intravenous study medication and standard of care in the treatment of complicated skin and skin structure infections. All study related exams, procedures and medications are furnished at no cost. Patients will be compensated $100.00 per visit up to a possible total of $500.00 to cover time and travel expenses.
Patient Inclusion Criteria
18 years old or older with diagnosis of complicated skin and skin structure infection such as MRSA which involves deeper soft tissue such as major abscess, infected burn, traumatic wound infection, deep/extensive cellulitis, surgical wound infection, infected ulcer
Patient Exclusion Criteria
Complicated skin and skin structure infection known or suspected to be caused by fungal, parasitic or viral infection. Complicated skin and skin structure infection of the following categories: Diabetic foot ulcer, decubitus ulcer, multiple infected ulcers at distant sites, presence of gangrene of any cause or super infected eczema or other chronic medical condition. Impaired kidney function, current cancer treatments,history of seizure disorder, or cardiac disease. Any of the above may disqualify you from participation in this study.
