Trial Information

A Phase II Study of LBH589, a Novel Histone Deacetylase Inhibitor, in Relapsed and Refractory Adult Patients with Acute Leukemia (AL)

You have been asked to participate in this research study because you have acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) or acute myelogenous leukemia (AML) that has relapsed (returned after initially responding to chemotherapy) or is refractory (has failed to respond to standard therapy). The purpose of this study is to evaluate how often and for how long ALL or AML responds to treatment with LBH589, to see what side effects LBH589 causes, and to study changes in laboratory tests during treatment. Your participation in this study is expected to last at least four weeks (one cycle of treatment). If you are tolerating treatment and your medical condition is not getting worse, you will be able to receive additional cycles of treatment. After you discontinue treatment, your medical condition will continue to be followed for one year.
