Glioblastoma Multiforme (Brain Cancer) - Adults

People diagnosed with Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) are asked to participate in a research study being conducted by the North Shore University Hospital.

Patient Inclusion Criteria
You may be eligible to participate in this study if you:

  • Are at least 18 years of age
  • Have been diagnosed newly with GBM

Patient Exclusion Criteria
You may not participate in this study if you:

  • Have any of the following severe conditions: congestive heart failure, heart attack, bacterial or fungal infection, respiratory illness, liver diseases including low enzyme production, AIDS, or active connective tissue disorders such as lupus or sclerodema
  • Had prior or planned chemotherapy, immunotherapy, biologic therapy, radiation therapy, radioimmunotherapy, hormonal therapy, or experimental therapy for brain tumor
  • Are allergic to contrast media (X-ray dye)
  • Had cancer that required active treatment during the previous 3 years
  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, or intend to become pregnant during the study
  • Have participated in another research study within the last 30 days
