Novartis is conducting this clinical trial to find out if the drug omalizumab (Xolair®) has beneficial effects on the airways in people who have moderate to severe allergic asthma. Xolair® has been approved in the European Union and by the U.S Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of persistent allergic asthma.

Post-marketing studies to delineate additional information including the drugs risks, benefits, and optimal use.
